We throw the spotlight on Gerald Solomon, Executive Director of the Network of Academic and Scholastic Esports Federation (NASEF), and a member of the board of the International Esports Federation.
Through NASEF, Gerald shares his expertise using STEM techniques to teach skills such as communication and problem-solving skills that students may need to thrive in their field of work.
NASEF recently signed a formal MOU with Esports Indonesia Garudaku where they will work together to bring NASEF’s Scholastic Esports model to hundreds of thousands of youth in Indonesia. This partnership was made possible through a secured grant from the US Embassy to bring the NASEF Scholastics Program to Indonesia.
In the world of STEM/STEAM education, Gerald has been involved in this journey with over a decade of his time spent with the Samueli Foundation, where he was Executive Director, carrying out youth development, and health and wellness programs. Overall, leading the global philanthropy through the organization.
We had Gerald on Season 3, Episode 3 of the Gamers Change Lives Podcast. He talked about Transforming Education Through Esports, where he shared how esports can be a tool to help teach children skills in technology and career opportunities.
Congratulations to Gerald and the NASEF team for landing this timely grant with the US Embassy and providing opportunities to all students through esports!
More ground to cover and more knowledge to be shared across the world in 2024 and beyond.
